Politics

So what does MidWest Women Network mean when it says the Network is not a political organization?

Politics is a system of elected people trying to gain and hold on to power.  Too often, politicians gain an advantage by dividing voters. The politician may win, but society loses when there is so much discord, shouting and rancor.

But MWWN focuses on shared values and changing minds one conversation at a time. The Network’s political power comes from unity. When the Network voices are speaking together they will amplify each other exponentially—without shouting.

Yes, MWWN expects to have political influence.

Yes, the collective voice of the Network will change elections.

Yes, MWWN will lead together to a better future instead of following polls on divisive issues.

But we are not beholden to the politicians and we are not a political organization.
